As I forgive, I am free.
Forgiveness
is an act of love, for myself as well as for others. I forgive in order
to cleanse my heart of negativity and open to the love of God. Forgiveness
is not about the other person; it is about me. When I forgive, I
release judgment, hurt, and resentment and find freedom. In forgiving
others, I am loving myself enough to embrace freedom. I choose to see
the situation that caused me pain in a different way. Every experience
is an opportunity to learn, and I choose to be an over-comer rather than a
victim. The love of God is at work in all situations. Forgiveness frees
me to focus on what is true and everlasting—our oneness with God and
each other.
For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.—2 Timothy 1:7
