Today I gift others with my presence.
On
a day when gifts are often exchanged, I remember the most precious gift
of all—the gift of pure presence. Practicing the presence of God is a
form of prayer—a time of sacred communion with the indwelling Spirit. Practicing
spiritual presence with another person is similar. I might initiate a
round of gratitude-sharing at the family table. Or I might share my
undivided attention with a friend who needs me. Whatever my
activities today, I choose to treat every interaction as sacred. I honor
the birth of Christ every time I live from my own divine nature and
bear witness to the Christ Spirit in others.
I
am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is
born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the
Lord.—Luke 2:10-11
