The Holy Spirit comforts me and gives me rest.
Slipping
into a favorite garment, sipping a perfectly chilled beverage on a hot
day, visiting with a love one: these are the moments that bring comfort
for my physical and emotional well-being. If I am stressed,
discouraged, or lonely, I may seek comfort in the company of others. But
true, lasting serenity comes from knowing that I am one with God—filled
with the living, loving spirit of divine love. At any time, I can look
within and connect with Spirit. It is here I find peace, rest, and
comfort. Like a favorite garment or the nearness of a friend,
Spirit comforts me. I find strength and encouragement as I allow myself
to rest in God’s presence.
O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.—Psalm 63:1
