Inner peace is only a thought away.
When outer annoyances seem to keep me from feeling calm, serene, or centered, I focus my awareness inward and rediscover inner peace. As I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing, the day’s stress and concerns melt away. I remember that peace is my true nature. I recover my peace one thought, one breath, one prayer at a time. Conflict and chaos in the outer world have no permanence. Peace is not a lack of conflict, but an abiding realization that conflict does not define or control me. I create my life through the thoughts I choose to think—and I choose peace.
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?—Matthew 6:25
