Let Go Let God through Giving

Through giving, I receive.

 

The delight in children’s eyes as they open a gift brings joy to the giver. Tears of thanksgiving from someone receiving a helping hand can uplift the heart of the helper. Lending a hand in a friend’s time of need blesses them and me. Jesus taught that we should love others, sharing our time and attention, expecting nothing in return. Doing so we create a situation through which we receive unimaginable blessings in return. Through giving, I receive. I share the blessings I have received and create a circle of love and giving that expands outward from me to bless me and everyone in my world.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.—Luke 6:38

Let Go Let God in Prosperity

My spirit rejoices in the infinite goodness of God.

 

My five senses are part of my abundance from God. With these senses, I take in the gifts this season brings: the touch of a loved one’s hand in mine, the welcoming aroma of scented candles, the dazzling site of colorful lights, the delicious taste of a fresh baked cookie, and the harmonious sounds of a Christmas carol. There is, however, a joy that takes me beyond what I perceive through my physical senses. With a deeper sense of Spirit, I am aware of the goodness of God that is evident as it moves in and through my life and all life continuously. My spirit does rejoice in the infinite goodness of God. I give thanks for the blessings of the past and present and I am thankful for those yet to be received.

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.—John 4:24

Let Go Let God for World Peace

I bless the world with words of peace and actions of goodwill.

 

Words have power, so I select mine with care. If I find myself in a situation where there is contention or discord, I center myself before entering the conversation. Centered in God, I speak words that build up, that reinforce self-esteem, that inspire positive outcomes. Every positive thought, every optimistic statement, every constructive activity I take part in contributes blessings of peace and goodwill in the world. As I do what is mine to do, I know that others around the world are doing what is theirs to do. Peace in the world begins with peace in my heart, harmony in my words, and goodwill in my intentions.

The dawn from on high will break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness ... to guide our feet into the way of peace.—Luke 1:78-79

Let Go Let God with Joy

I am joyous, and I share my joy with others.

 

Smiles, laughter, sharing time with friends and family—these are all expressions and experiences of joy. Being joyful is not caused by the outer experiences of my life, rather it is the outflow of my inner nature. Joy is an attitude that I bring to life. When I pray, I get in tune with the harmony of my inner self. This place of perfect synchronicity is where joy flows, unbound and unlimited, bubbling up as smiles and laughter, confidence and courage. Whatever my day brings, I have the ability to approach it with a spirit of happiness and peace. Even in the most challenging situation, I have the option and the capacity to respond with a lightness of heart, opening the way for humor and acceptance. I am joyously alive!

You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy.—Psalm 16:11

Let Go Let God be Free

I am free.

 

What is the value of freedom? To someone who has never experienced it or is restricted by law or the beliefs of others, freedom is priceless. The independence to do what we want to do, when and how we want to do it, is a gift. To choose our own actions and make our own decisions is priceless. I may feel limited and constrained, but these thoughts can be self-imposed. In prayer, I remind myself: I am free. Through the spirit of God in me, I have all the power I will ever need to claim and express divine freedom in every area of my life. At every moment I am free to be the best me that God created me to be.

For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.—Galatians 5:1

Let Go Let God in Meditation

As I meditate on the presence of God within, I find peace.

 

One evening after Jesus had been out teaching, his disciples were in a panic as a windstorm created massive waves that crashed against their boat. Jesus awoke and with a single command, stilled the winds and the waters. In my life, too, I sometimes allow outer circumstances to stir up feelings of fear in my mind. Yet I can calm the chaos by focusing my attention on the presence of God within. When my mind churns out of control, I stop and take a deep breath. I focus my attention on the love and peace of God. As I turn my mind to God, I feel my body begin to relax. My breathing and my thoughts slow, the waters of my mind settling into a placid calm. As I meditate on God, I feel deeply at peace.

You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.—Psalm 89:9

Let Go Let God in Understanding

My understanding expands as I am in service to God.

 

My greatest joy is to be of service to God. When I open my heart as a conduit of love and understanding to all living creatures, my heart expands with spiritual understanding. Just as a lamp will not turn on without a current, so, too, do I need the dynamic power of God-life within for my spiritual understanding to manifest. In service, I experience a great increase in gratitude. Interacting with others, I know the unconditional love that is mine as God’s child. My ability to let go of judgment and forgive others reveals a deeper understanding of God’s unconditional love. Today I commit myself to be in service to God, to serve as Jesus served, and to open my heart to understanding.

Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.—Psalm 119:34
