I build community through prayer.
I
am grateful to belong to my community. By attending church events,
sporting events, or charity fundraisers, I connect with others. But true
community does not depend on shared activities or beliefs. My kinship
with others is God-given. Through prayer, I remember my innate
oneness with all people. In the Silence, I enlarge my sense of
community. I then deepen this feeling of kinship by participating in
organized prayer efforts—whether for local or global causes—or simply
pray for everyone who is suffering. My heart overflows with love for
others, which comes from God. I rejoice in my bond with all of humanity.
Now
that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so
that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the
heart.—1 Peter 1:22
