I am safe and protected in the light of God.
Being
alone in the dark is a common childhood fear. The active imagination of
a child creates monsters hiding in the shadows. When a parent turns on
the light, the shadows disappear to reveal the reality—that the creature
was merely clothing or furniture. There may be times in my life
when I feel a fear of the unknown or unseen. My imagination may get
caught up in the illusions of the world. During those times I need to
remember that I am a child of God, protected by spiritual illumination. I
focus on God’s presence in my life, centering myself within, anchoring
myself with faith. Doing so I am able to turn my attention from external
fear to internal guidance. I am safe and protected in the light of God.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.—Psalm 91:11
