popular hymn begins, “I’ve got peace like a river in my soul.”
Jesus—our Master Teacher—exemplified such ever-flowing peace. As a
child of God, I always have access to the divine idea of harmony. Every
thought I think and every action I take stems from a choice that I make. Today
I choose peace. Harmony is an inner decision that I make in every
moment. The love for all that I hold in my mind reaches out in the world
as harmonious relationships, positive relations between neighbors, and
respect for all life. My thoughts and actions help to create a
world of mutual understanding. I play my part in bringing about heaven
on earth through my choice for peace.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.—John 14:27
