I open my heart to the unexpected gifts of community.
It
can seem challenging to embrace community when personalities collide
and viewpoints divide. In these times, I might be tempted to become
judgmental, feel victimized, or simply leave. Yet if I elect to open my
heart to divine love, I experience all the good that is available. As I surrender my preconceptions, I am enriched by diverse
perspectives. When I remember that I am one with all people, I recognize
that hurtful actions are merely unskillful calls for love. I
acknowledge my difficult feelings then cocoon them with thoughts of
compassion. Longtime wounds begin to heal. When I am open and vulnerable
in community, I reap blessings beyond my imagination.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.—Matthew 18:20
