Being a good receiver is a gift back to the giver.
With
December holidays approaching, I look forward to giving and receiving.
When I give to others, I feel the warmth that comes from demonstrating
my appreciation of them in the form of a thoughtful gift. While I do not give to receive, I realize the importance of accepting
graciously. There is spiritual reciprocity embedded in the process of
giving and receiving. Receiving a gift in such a way is giving a gift back to the giver.
Another person thought of me. When I graciously accept a gift, a kind
word, a smile, or a hug, I acknowledge that I believe I am worthy of
receiving. In doing so, I also accept and celebrate that everybody has
value, and all are worthy.
The measure you give will be the measure you get back.—Luke 6:38
