Drawing Forth the Spirit Within, I Develop Patience.
Patience is not only a virtue but a practice. In a fast-paced culture that sometimes values time more than relationships, I may rush through a conversation to get to what I feel is more important, even becoming sarcastic or curt. I realize the virtue of patience. Practicing this skill instills in me the willingness to be kind toward others even when I may not think I have the time. This includes patience with myself. I give myself permission to make mistakes and atone for any errors, asking forgiveness when appropriate. The apostle Paul wrote, “Love is patient, love is kind …” I express the love of God through my patience.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.—Ephesians 4:2
