My Spiritual Roots Are Strong In God. I Am Secure.
Young trees grow tall and stretch skyward, their branches spreading wide and their green leaves glistening in the sun. Even as trees grow up, they are also growing down, roots extending into the earth, drawing sustenance from the soil in which they are planted. Stormy winds and rain may cause the trees to shake and bend, but they do not break because of the strong roots anchoring them in place. Like the tree, I am rooted in the love of God. This is my enduring security when the rough winds of life whip around me and I must bend to adapt to shifting circumstance. The presence of God is my source of stability and safety, through every season of life.
You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”—Psalm 91:1-2
