I let go and allow true forgiveness to flow through me.
How
often do I forgive something only to remember it later and have another
emotional reaction? True forgiveness means letting go completely as
many times as necessary. This does not mean that I choose who is forgivable and who is not.
When Peter asked Jesus if he should forgive someone as many as seven
times, Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you,
seventy-seven times.” Each act or choice can have spiritual consequence when approached
with the right consciousness. Holding on to past hurts eats me up inside
and keeps me from my good. Forgiveness heals. It gives me the freedom to move forward with love and joy.
What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ.—2 Corinthians 2:10
