I Find Comfort As I Open My Heart To Receive God's Love.
When faced with uncertainty or the pain of grief and loss, it’s natural to long for comfort. I open my heart to feel the sadness or fear that grip me. As I do, I am also opening myself to receive the soothing comfort of divine love. In the Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” I find great solace in these words. No matter where I am on my journey, I can never be separated from God. This is my comfort, that even as things of the world come and go, the presence and power of God is constant and enduring. I let myself mourn, grieve, and cry as much as I need to, trusting the sun will rise on a new day.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.—Psalm 23:4
