When I see the light I truly am, all others are illumined.
When
I judge myself harshly, I may find myself being hard on others as
well—an obstacle for healthy relationships. If judgmental thoughts about
others come into consciousness, I ask myself, Why am I defending myself? Why am I trying to make myself right by making them wrong? I breathe and bring myself back to the present moment. I practice
self-compassion by remembering I am perfect, whole, and complete, and I
am a being of light, and all others are beings of light. When I see myself in the light, I see the Truth about myself. I learn
to see the Truth in others. Instead of harshness between us, there is
harmony and peace.
The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.—Matthew 6:22
