I am Patient, Kind and Loving.
There are days when I pray for patience. I may be dealing with issues at work that are not going as I want. I may be helping to raise toddlers or teenagers. Working as a care-giver, driving in heavy traffic, or coping with a trying colleague or classmate—I can see all of these as opportunities to apply patience. Patience is similar to a magnet—it attracts like action. When I act with patience and kindness, I set the stage for others around me to act in the same way. I may need to step back for a moment and take a breath before responding to others, but as I do, I am able to act calmly. I am able to speak from a place of understanding. Remembering that my Christ nature guides me at all times, I recall “The Prayer of Faith” and affirm: I now am patient, kind, and loving too.
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.—John 13:34
